Le reste de la famille, lui, semble ne rien remarquer d’anormal dans cette maison qui n’a pourtant rien d’ordinaire.
Shining Vale trouve son origine en 2018 chez Showtime, avant de rejoindre Starz en 2019 avec Lionsgate Television comme coproducteur. Courteney Cox est la première actrice attachée au rôle principal en février 2020, rejointe par Greg Kinnear, Gus Birney, Dylan Gage, puis Mira Sorvino et Merrin Dungey. Le tournage du pilote a lieu à Los Angeles en mars 2021, sous contraintes sanitaires liées à la pandémie, avant que le reste de la première saison, composée de huit épisodes, ne soit tourné à partir de juillet 2021.
